Case Study - Nelson's Patch Holiday Park

We were asked by Steve & Keith of Nelson’s Patch to supply and install all of the electronic security systems. The site had not yet been developed and their vision was to create an award-winning motorhome holiday park.

Upon a site visit, Ballum Security helped realise their vision, offering not only CCTV, but Wi-Fi and an automatic barrier system, which linked to their online booking system to create an un-manned site.

The site faced many delays, covid-19 caused delays and price increases in some materials needed by the civil engineers.

Then came the telephone provider. It took over two years to get the national provider to install a telephone line. It was also difficult to get the mains power hooked up, as energy prices were rising, and no supplier would take on a new contract.

We took over the phone line installation arrangements, working with the national provider to resolve their issues.

We successfully linked the site’s online booking system to the ANPR camera, so that when a guest books a plot, they are automatically allowed entry on their booked day(s).

The Wi-Fi was designed to transmit a strong 2.4g and 5g signal to all corners of the site, while the CCTV design allowed for autonomous cameras to patrol the area.

They later plan to expand to the site to include electric vehicle chargers, which we have already planned CCTV for.
